Our Process

How We Work for You

Hiring an experienced criminal defense attorney is the most important step toward defending your rights. Depending on what your specific legal issue is will determine what we can do to start protecting you in and out of court.

Initial Consultation

We are always available for your call 24 hours a day 7 days a week, weekends and holidays too. Every case begins with an initial consultation and the consultation is always confidential, always free and always with your licensed criminal defense Attorney. During the initial phase of the consultation, you will be asked very general information about your contact with law enforcement and relevant prior criminal history.

Once the basic information has been gathered your Attorney will ask very specific questions about your particular case. This is the most important aspect of the criminal case consultation. Without this specific detailed information, it is very difficult for an attorney to evaluate the strengths or weaknesses of your particular case.

After the information is gathered the process of retaining us will begin. We offer very reasonable and competitive pricing for our services. The actual cost of the representation will depend on the facts of your particular case. Attorney Grant Schwarz accepts multiple forms of payment for legal representation of any criminal charge.

Hire an experienced Criminal Defense attorney

After you have retained our office, we will begin working on your case immediately. We will never delay filing paperwork or acting on your behalf. Depending on which phase of the criminal justice system you have retained us in, your Attorney will reach out to the police or the state attorneys office to begin making your case.

Once the case has begun, you will have access to your case file any time. This includes, billing statements, police reports, and court pleadings. As a client, you have the right to know everything that is going on in your case and to be fully informed during every phase of the process. We are available 24 hours a day for your questions and concerns, and we invite you to call or email any time.

Our Fees

We receive many phone calls each week, and the first question is often “How much do you charge for…” This is the absolute wrong question to ask your prospective criminal defense attorney. The fact is that there are many attorneys out there who are willing to give a very low price quote in an effort to gain your business. What the prospective client fails to realize is that taking on a criminal case requires a great deal of investigating, most of which occurs during the initial consultation. It is simply not possible to give a price immediately upon your call to any law office. A lot more information is needed to be able to quote a reasonable price for your charge.

At the Office of Attorney Grant Schwarz , we strive for the highest level of representation at a cost that is reasonable and commensurate with the severity of your offense and type of work reasonably foreseeable for your case. Every case is different and the outcome of every case will differ based on a number of factors:

  • Facts and circumstances of your arrest
  • Type and nature of your offense
  • Potential penalties
  • Your criminal history

All of our fees for Criminal Defense Cases are on a FLAT FEE basis. What this means is that the agreed upon fee for your case will never change. You will not be hit with any surprise attorneys fees at any point during the representation. All fees and costs are agreed to prior to you hiring our firm and everything is written in a contract, which you will have a copy of. We do not charge per court appearance and we do not offer piece-by-piece or a la carte legal representation. Everything is included in the agreed upon fees:

  • Pleadings
  • Court Appearances
  • Hearings
  • Motions
  • Plea Negotiations
  • Trial

The more time we spend in the courtroom the more we see that most criminal defendants simply cannot afford a high priced attorney to represent them. But why should a person’s financial circumstances affect their ability to hire an experienced and hard working criminal defense attorney? Given the fact that most people feel they cannot afford a private lawyer, most criminal defendants resort to the office of the public defender in their respective jurisdiction. While public defenders are attorneys who went to the same law schools and studied the same materials as private lawyers, they simply cannot offer the same level of service as a private lawyer. The average public defender will have several hundred files assigned to them which gives them very little time to spend working on your particular case and meeting your needs and expectations. Further, public defenders are often will not take time to speak to the family of the accused or take calls and answer questions after hours.

The fact is that you get what you pay for. When you accept a free attorney assigned to you, you do not get to choose who is representing you and you will not receive the same level of service as with a private attorney. Further, when you seek to hire the cheapest attorney you can find, you will often receive very sub-par representation.

You should hire a firm that has been practicing criminal defense law for several years. The best criminal defense attorneys were former prosecutors who know the system. Attorney Grant Schwarz is rated 10.0 out of 10.0 and given the Clients Choice award for 2013 by Avvo.com. The Office of Attorney Grant Schwarz has been defending criminal cases since 1979 and is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell.

Outstanding service from lawyer Grant Ian Schwarz.

Lawyer Grant Ian Schwarz provides outstanding service. I recently hired him for my case earlier this year and on the day of the trial it got dismissed with ease. Not only did that case get dismissed but my first case three years ago got dismissed as well with Grant by my side. Mr.Schwarz is a reliable lawyer who I would recommend to anybody having any sort of legal issues. Grant is an extremely caring lawyer who will answer all questions that you have and will respond to any e-mails, texts, or phone calls that you send his direction. I cannot forget to mention his confidence in the courtroom is amazing and it truly shows his greatness. Grant Ian Schwarz is the right lawyer for you. Thank you for everything Grant.
